Svante Djarv Carving Knife Blades are delivered with a rough grind, so will require a final sharpen and hone before use. However otherwise these are the same knife blades used in Svante's complete carving knives.
The blades are made out of tool steel, which is a carbon steel. It is forged as a solid and is not laminated. They are both hard and tough. They stay sharp for a long time and when they eventually get dull they are easy to grind and hone back into sharpness.
We currently stock 5 of Svante's blade only carving knives: 25x85, 20x80, 16x80, 17x60 and 22x100. The 25x85 is a good allrounder, and 20x80, 16x80 and 17x60 are most suitable for carving only. The 22x100 is one of Svante's largest blades, and most suitable as an all purpose bushcraft type knife.
