The Prandi Traditional Bowl Adze is a mid-weight doubly curved adze suitable for hollowing work.

Now, you may have seen this adze elsewhere and see that this might be a little on the dearer side. There is a very good reason for that, let us explain. At Woodsmith, we uphold ourselves on selling only the best tools - and only willing to sell products that we'd be happy to use ourselves and keep in our own workshop. The Prandi Adze is a great weight, head with good geometry for efficient wood removal, and made from high quality steel that will hold and keep a good edge. However, once we had the tool in our hands we felt the edge was not ready for work, and the handle could have been better fitted. Therefore, if you buy the Prandi Adze from Woodsmith, you know it comes with the following remodelling:

• Ready to use edge, sharpened and honed 
• Completely refitted handle (using the original shaft to minimise waste) re-wedged and glued for a more secure fit
• Handle sanded and oiled with boiled linseed oil
• Comes with a custom-fitted leather sheath as standard 

• Weight: approx. head weight 700g, overall weight 810g 
• Handle: approx. 220mm (8.5") made from ash, lightly oiled with linseed oil
• Edge Protection: comes as standard from Woodsmith with a custom fit leather sheath fastened by leather thonging. A welt ensures the cutting edge won't be damaged by the rivets.
