The Svante Djarv Cutting Axe 700g is a handmade, hand-forged tool by Swedish toolmaker, Svante Djarv. Designed as a versatile cutting axe, it's ideally suited for hunting, scouting, and carving tasks. Its symmetrical bevels, ground to about 25 degrees, make it an excellent choice for precision carving, while the distinct beard on the axe allows for close-up work. Complemented by a ribbed handle, a signature feature of Svante Djarv, this axe ensures a firm and comfortable grip. Each axe is accompanied by a split leather sheath crafted by Woodsmith, ensuring your axe is suitably protected. Lighter than the Svante Djarv Little Viking Axe.

About the Maker - Svante Djarv Hantverk AB:
Svante Djarv Hantverk is a family business based in Avesta, Sweden, that specialises in creating hand-forged wood carving tools. Drawing inspiration from the Swedish metal-working tradition, they've built a broad range of tools, often in collaboration with experienced wood-crafters. Each year, they produce about 4,000 tools and knives, ranging from carving knives to axes, and they also have a unique tool line for children. Every tool is delivered ready for use, crafted from high-quality steel and complemented with handles made from Swedish hardwoods like elm and ash. Woodsmith has had a long-standing relationship with Svante and Elsa Djarv for over a decade, and we're proud to be the UK's largest stockist of their tools.
