Fawn Foot Pattern Replacement Axe Handles
Fawn Foot Pattern Replacement Axe Handles are made in the UK from prime quality hickory.
Available in a wide range of sizes from 12" for small hatchets to 36" for large felling axes.
This style of handle was regularly fitted to many English hatchets and axes, of which there are many still in service. Brands such as Elwell, Brades and Gilpin had this style of handle fitted when new.
They are unlikely to fit or look right if fitted to many European axes. Please get in touch if in doubt.
In most cases, we quote the approximate dimensions of the handles 'eye-wood', the wood that fits into the head. There will in most cases almost certainly be wood to remove to achieve a good fit. This is best done with a wood rasp
Each handle comes with a wooden wedge and a single steel wedge.
May come with or without a pre-sawn kerf.
