Robert Sorby Straight Carving Gouge 1 1/2"

The Robert Sorby Straight Carving Gouge 1 1/2" model 6103 is a well made and robust straight gouge for work on larger pieces of timber with a wooden mallet.

Similar to the Robert Sorby Straight Carving Gouge 1 1/2", Model 6104 but with a smaller gentler sweep.

Because this gouge has a very shallow sweep it's suitable for removing a lot of the tool marks from the inside of medium - large bowls.

Fitted with heavy duty double-hooped handles and a shock absorbing leather washer.

Cutting Edge: 1 1/2" (38mm)

Blade length: 6 1/4" (160mm).

Total length: 13" (330mm)

Ash handle with steel ferrules.

Comes with a polished factory grind but would benefit from a final hone prior to use.
